Twisted Up

I am just about exhausted with excitement in preparing for The Monroe Sisters ATL Meet Up!!! Its been a busy last few weeks as I’ve taken on major responsibilities and put a few things in place. Most importantly in less than 48 hrs my sister, MsVaughn and I will be wrapping up our event and seeing all of our hard work follow through. Yay!!!!

I have everything set up mostly but I must be honest I’ve neglected my hair quite a bit. Based on the design of my dress I would prefer to wear my hair up and off my neck for the event, but who knows. I know one thing, my hair needed some TLC and I was sure to perform. No way I could wear a tangled wash and go puff another day.

I started with a moisturizing shampoo using the Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. I followed directly after with Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque leaving it on all night under a plastic shower cap and my Turbie Twist. My hair was butter soft the next morning, unbelievably soft.

Once my hair was rinsed I didn’t have much of a choice since I was headed in to work so I pulled my hair into a puff and did not add any product throughout. I added a bit of my shea butter whip to my edges to help tame some of the frizz but I didn’t want to add any gels since I had plans for my hair when I got home. Once I made it home I spritzed my hair with water, added some Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner and a bit of my shea butter whip to seal in the moisture. I twisted my hair in small to medium sections making sure to pay close attention to twirling my ends to create a curl for the perfect twistout…I hope. :-)

I do love using the Cantu Shea Butter Leave In and my Shea Butter Whip as it leaves my hair soft, shiny, springy, and textured. If you all haven’t tried this combination I would definitely recommend this oldie but goodie. I’m hoping to stretch my hair in the next day or so and rock an elongated twistout pinup. That’s the plan but we all know that with our Natural Hair we can switch things up and definitely have the option to.

Can’t wait to meet my readers who have pre registered for our event. I also can’t wait to bump into as many beautiful ladies as possible at the World Natural Hair Show. This shall be one exciting weekend.

Thanks for reading Loves,

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong with my twist outs. They look like yours at night but when I untwist, if I fluff them out it looses the pattern AND it seems like the products I use leave my hair either sticky or greasy (Hawaiian Silky conditioner and regular shea butter). What could I try different?
